Check fraud has rapidly escalated nationwide, but credit unions don’t have to navigate these challenging times alone. While credit unions have specific regulatory obligations, ECCHO/The Clearing House (TCH) and Alloya are there to support credit unions in the fight against fraud through education, guidance and advocacy.
In this webinar, ECCHO/TCH representatives Jackie Pagán and Deirdre Ashby will explain the transfer and presentment warranties under the Uniform Commercial Code and Regulation CC that apply between financial institutions when processing checks. ECCHO Rule 9 will also be discussed as an additional tool for recovering funds related to the handling of forged and counterfeit checks. Amber Quinlivan, Alloya’s Assistant Vice President of Payment Delivery, will cover Alloya’s process for assisting credit unions with warranty breach claims.
The reality of check fraud may feel daunting, but you don’t have to face it alone. With the support of ECCHO/TCH and Alloya, you will be better equipped and prepared to respond when bad actors strike. Register now to reserve your seat at the table.
